2009 | Founding Conference of IRENA
The conference establishing the International Agency for Renewable Energies (IRENA) will be held in Bonn on 26 January 2009 (programme). About 100 states have so far committed to participate, many of whom will be sending high-level representatives to Bonn. Nearly half these states will sign the founding treaty. The German Federal Government will be represented by Federal Environment Minister Sigmar Gabriel, Development Minister Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul and Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
