mai 15 2009 | Saipem wins US$ 280 million offshore contract in Indonesia
Saipem has been awarded a new offshore contract for the development of the Gajah Baru field located in the Natuna block ‘A’ in the West Natuna Sea, off the coast of Indonesia.
Saipem, as the leader in a consortium with PT SMOE Indonesia, has been awarded by Premier Oil Natuna Sea B.V. the EPCI contract (engineering, procurement, construction and installation) for the Central Processing Platform (weighing a total of 12,900 tons), the Wellhead Platform, a connecting bridge and a 16" gas export pipeline 3-kilometres long.
Saipem’s contract portion is worth approximately US$280 million, and includes engineering, procurement, transport and installation of the platforms and pipeline.
The Central Processing Platform will be installed using the “floatover” method, while other platform facilities and pipeline will be installed using Saipem’s Castoro Otto derrick/lay barge. The marine activities will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2011.
